ATFL NEWS

January 2008

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year and a Happy belated Birthday to all the Thoroughbreds!

January is set to be an very exciting month here at After the Finish LineTM. We are closing in on obtaining our official 501(C)(3) non-profit status as well as closing in on obtaining our trademark, After the Finish LineTM. But that's not all. All grant applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2008. Grant applications must be received no later than Saturday, February 9, 2008 for consideration. I have already received several applications and our board of directors have received their copies to review.

Thoroughbred Style magazine ran a beautiful endorsement advertisement for us in their December/January 2008 issue. The magazine will have an article about After the Finish LineTM in their March/April edition. I hope to have a link to the article for our press page. We also have an article appearing in the February edition of Ranch and Coast magazine, San Diego's Luxury Lifestyle Magazine. Soon you can read the article at www.ranchandcoast.com. I was also interviewed for a new column on an equine welfare organization's website. Stay tuned for more details.

I enjoy getting your emails at dawn@afterthefinish-line.org. They have all be very complimentary to the cause of helping Thoroughbreds that can no longer race or breed. Thank you for your support!

Please donate to After the Finish LineTM. Visit our website Donation page, Donations to After the Finish LineTM for more information. After the Finish LineTM provides funding assistance to Thoroughbred rescue organizations throughout the United States through yearly Grants and  an Emergency Fund to assist horses as needed. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Dawn Mellen, President
